Nobody knows where, nobody knows where
Nobody knows where we hide
We are the sea faeries of Hastings
And we swim with the tide

By day we are one with the ocean
And we dance where the waves never end
At night on the shore, we attend to our chores
As we fix broken hearts left to mend
— The Keepers of Hearts

The Keepers of Hearts are sea faeries that mend broken hearts by the light of the moon.

Told in rhyme and song, The Keepers of Hearts is a magical story with a happy ending that helps mend broken hearts everywhere.

Written by me, Raven Hurste and illustrated by Claire Fletcher, proceeds from sales and performances of the book support me in my work as a soul midwife.

Set in Hastings Old Town in the 1850s, The Keepers of Hearts is the story of young Jack and his magical journey to find the sea faeries of Rock-a-Nore and mend his Mother’s broken heart.

When young Jack’s father drowns in a storm at sea, his Mother is heart-broken, so Jack decides to find out how to mend her broken heart.

His journey takes him on an adventure where he meets the fishermen’s wives, a wise owl and a wise woman. Together they help him find his way to the sea faeries of Rock-a-Nore.

The sea faeries mend broken hearts by the light of the moon, but they find the task of healing Annie’s heart more difficult than usual and need to turn to the mermaids for help.
